The City Commission confirmed Special Assessment District roll number 9‑15 for Wimbledon Phase 1 paving on June 23, formalizing the commission’s May decision to replace the typical 85/15 front‑foot split with a 50/50 allocation for this unimproved major residential street.
Deputy treasurer Ryan Katz said the roll frames costs over a 10‑year period at an 8.5 percent interest rate; the confirmed roll assigns special assessments proportionally according to front, side and corner footage under the commission’s direction.
Later in the meeting the commission considered construction bids and awarded the Wimbledon Phase 1 contract to Eminent Excavating LLC. Staff reported that following bid submissions and subsequent revisions the recommended contract amount is $3,644,249.50; the commission authorized award with a 10 percent construction contingency for a total not to exceed $4,008,674.45, subject to execution of required insurance and bonds.
Funding was identified across the major street fund, sidewalk gap closure account, water and sewer funds; the commission approved associated budget amendments for sewer and water funds as part of the contract authorization.
