Board approves fire-services contract, concerts alcohol license and Catholic Charities ENCORE agreement

The Waterford Township board approved a set of contracts and service agreements during its special meeting.
The board voted to approve a City of Pontiac fire protection services contract; trustees and staff thanked those involved for completing the agreement. The motion passed on roll call.
The board also approved a Concerts Park alcohol sales license for July 2025 after weather-related postponements of prior events. Board members confirmed the event dates and approved charging modest fees for utilities and janitorial services where applicable.
In a separate action, the board approved an agreement with Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan to provide ENCORE adult-day services in township space. Board members said the township will provide three rooms and charge primarily for utilities and janitorial services rather than rent. During public comment, Aaron Asdale said the community would be pleased and noted transition planning: “Paul Propson … has assured that our small staff of 4 will be continued September 1,” he said, and praised Catholic Charities for staffing continuity. Several residents also thanked the board for preserving the ENCORE program and noted the program’s long-term community value.
All three items passed on roll calls recorded at the meeting.
