Commissioners recognized Michele Cartwright, a medical assistant with the Utah County Children's Justice Center, as the county’s employee of the month on Sept. 13.
A presenter described Cartwright as the only full-time medical staffer supporting four part-time nurse practitioners, praising her initiative in streamlining processes, calm demeanor with children and families, and reliable preparation of paperwork and supplies. Cartwright briefly thanked supervisors and coworkers and accepted the honor.
Why it matters: the commission noted that the Children's Justice Center works with abused children up to age 18 and called Cartwright’s work invaluable to those most vulnerable in the county.
The recognition was followed by a group photo and the commission moved on to the work session about the public defender's office.
