During the June 14 meeting of the Utah County Commission, public commenter Thomas Cook urged county officials to follow the law regarding the state flag change contained in Senate Bill 31, which Cook said is effective March 2024. "For those that are following, SB 31, the state flag change, the effective date is March 2024," Cook said, urging county entities to follow enacted laws and avoid apparent selective compliance.
No county response to that public comment is recorded in the meeting transcript; the commission moved to closed session and later adjourned.
