Utah County commissioners voted to approve and authorize signing an agreement with Provo City to support a planned Provo Regional Sports Park Complex, a 22-field soccer facility intended to host multi-day tournaments and produce “tens of millions” in annual regional economic impact, a Provo representative said.
Isaac Paxman of Provo City told commissioners the project is intended to host large tournaments and that Provo has secured a 100-acre parcel for development. "This is gonna be just a great asset for the community," Paxman said, and added that estimates for economic impact are "in the tens of millions of annual economic impact to the region." The county's contribution discussed in the meeting was described as $2,500,000.
