Utah County hears bookmobile presentation; provider offers 50% COVID relief and contract flexibility

Eggett said the bookmobile has been off the road since mid‑March and proposed a one‑time COVID relief grant equal to 50 percent of last year’s contract for participating counties; for Utah County that relief figure is $40,061. The provider also proposed contract flexibility so that if the vehicle is unable to operate for a month (or longer) due to public‑health restrictions, the contract term and payments would be adjusted to avoid charging counties for service days missed.
Commissioners thanked Eggett for the overview and asked about contract terms and the timeline for resuming service. No formal commission vote on the relief credit is recorded in the transcript; Eggett said the provider hopes for a soft opening on June 1 but will monitor public‑health guidance and adjust the contract accordingly.
