Commission approves interlocal agreement for Foothill Boulevard extension in Saratoga Springs

The Utah County Commission voted 2–0 to approve a resolution authorizing an interlocal cooperative agreement with the city of Saratoga Springs to advance the Foothill Boulevard extension.
Rob Moore of the County Attorney’s office explained the agreement and said the project is on the MAG (Metropolitan Area) project list and funded starting in 2024; county reimbursement will begin once the city starts expending design funds. ‘‘This would extend the road known as Foothill Boulevard in Saratoga Springs,’’ Moore said, describing endpoints near Pony Express Parkway and Lariat Boulevard west of Westlake High School.
Commissioners confirmed that the project funding is drawn from road tax allocations in the MAG process and that no county payments are expected before 2024. After brief questions about location and funding source, a commissioner moved to approve the item, a second was recorded, and the motion passed 2–0.
The approval permits Saratoga Springs to proceed with design work under an interlocal agreement that secures future county reimbursement when allocated funds become available.
