Sergeant Rockwell said the contracts include an insurance premium the cities pay (he stated an amount of about $1,162 per deputy per year as part of the contract pricing) and that mechanisms exist to reconcile under‑ or over‑payments.
Commissioners also discussed that the county purchases vehicles and that contract cities lease the deputy, equipment and vehicle for the term of the agreement; the county retains title to the vehicle. After questions and assurances about billing and annual contract review, a motion to authorize regular agenda item number 5 was moved and seconded and passed 3–0.
