County adopts resolution creating Utah County Good Governance Advisory Board, names chairs and website

The Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution (agenda item 7) appointing members to the newly expanded Utah County Good Governance Advisory Board and recorded plans for the panel to operate independently with its own public communications.

Unidentified Speaker 1 introduced the resolution to appoint board members. Unidentified Speaker 4 said the board was expanded after amendments adopted with agenda item 6 and expressed support for additional appointees, praising the list as representing a broad diversity of backgrounds. Unidentified Speaker 2 called the assembled list "a wonderful group of people" who will "have the capacity to truly represent and bring a broad spectrum of ideas."

Unidentified Speaker 4 said the county would immediately issue a press release listing the full membership, thanked "Dr. Cameron Martin" for serving as chair and "Dr. Rex Facer" for serving as vice chair, and said the board would host a website (utahcountyfuture.com) and public meetings managed independently by the board chair. The Board then voted to adopt the resolution; the chair recorded the motion as passing 3-0.

The resolution expands and formalizes a citizen advisory panel intended to collect public input and make recommendations to county leadership. The commissioners described the panel as independent: if county officials attend future meetings they would do so as citizens rather than exercising board control. The county will publish the full list of members via a press release and the advisory board's website.
