Utah County Commission approves ordinance to add Miracle Road to county road map

The Utah County Commission voted 3-0 to adopt an ordinance amending the Utah County road map to include a newly built road called Miracle Road in the Stevens Subdivision in Benjamin.

Brandon Larson, community development staff, told commissioners that the applicant originally received approval in 2017 for a loop road and later changed the plan to a fully paved road. "Staff recommends to the county commission that they adopt an ordinance amending the the Utah County road map to to amend sheets 12 and 13 to include the new road," Larson said, and asked that the motion reference the updated Stevens Subdivision plan set dated January 2019.

Larson reported that county community development and public works staff had verified the conditions of approval from the 07/07/2017 action appear to have been met and recommended accepting dedication of the roadway as a county Class B road. An unidentified commissioner moved to adopt the ordinance with Larson's amendments; an unidentified presiding commissioner seconded the motion. The commission recorded three ayes and no opposition and declared the measure passed 3-0.

The action updates the county road map to show the new road and accepts the road dedication; the commission did not provide an ordinance number during the open session, and the updated plan set date noted by staff was changed from May 27 to January 2019. The commission did not discuss funding or maintenance details during the open session.

The commission moved on to other agenda items after the vote.
