County boards adopt multiple 2019 budgets for service districts and county authorities

Several Utah County service-area boards and county authorities approved 2019 budgets in routine action during the morning’s meetings, while two service-area hearings were continued for a week to finish budget documents.

At the Utah Valley Road Special Service District meeting, the board opened and closed a public hearing with no public comment and then adopted the 2019 budget, which staff listed as revenues and expenditures of $300,100. The Municipal Building Authority also held a public hearing with no public comment and approved a resolution adopting its 2019 budget.

Service Area 6’s board approved a 2019 budget with revenues and expenditures of $3,122,000. Service Area 9 approved a 2019 budget showing revenues of $279,100 and matching expenses. Service Areas 7 and 8 were continued one week because some budget materials had not yet been prepared; the board set the continued hearings for the same time and location one week hence.

Ben Reeves, chair of the Utah Valley Special Service District for dispatch, addressed commissioners about consent-agenda item 16 (a dispatch transition matter) and noted the timing concern: he said the intention is for Utah Valley dispatch employees to transition at the end of the calendar year so payroll and W‑2 processing align with a planned Central Utah 911 start next year.

All budget motions that were acted on passed on motions and seconds during the respective service-area or authority meetings.
