Bert, a county staff member overseeing assessor matters, told commissioners that one late petition stemmed from a warranty-deed recording error that prevented the valuation notice from showing the correct owner. He said the county followed procedure by sending notices to the recorded owner at the time and recommended approval because the title company error prevented a timely ownership change. For another item staff characterized as a "factual error," the assessor’s office recommended a correction. A separate petition was recommended for approval as an extenuating circumstance after the filer, identified in the record as Mr. Bowen, missed the deadline due to an ongoing medical condition.
Commissioner (SEG 002) moved to approve the petitions as stated and Commissioner (SEG 003) seconded each motion. Commissioners voted unanimously on each petition; the minutes show each motion carried 3-0.
The board adjourned its session and transferred business to the Utah County Commission.
