Neosho council declares multiple city parcels surplus, aims to solicit development bids

Neosho City Council declared several city-owned parcels in the industrial park surplus and authorized staff to proceed with surveying, appraisal-based listing and sealed-bid solicitation.
Staff reported the 157-acre tract along Donathan Drive has been surveyed and appraised and is being offered in hopes of attracting development. Separately, two additional tracts along Daniel Boone Drive and Austin Avenue (approximately 16.7 acres and 35 acres) were similarly declared surplus. Council members expressed support for enabling development opportunities and adding to the city’s tax base; motions for both ordinances carried 7–0.
Staff said the parcels will be advertised and offered for sale pursuant to the city’s real-estate sale procedures, and council expects to review bids and proposals when they are returned.
