The commission approved an agreement on Jan. 19 that references payment routing to the Utah County Sheriff's Office address in Spanish Fork. Commissioners asked whether state payments should instead be sent directly to the county treasurer. Sheriff’s representatives said some state appropriations are provided via electronic deposit and their office often handles verification prior to arriving at the treasurer’s office; staff agreed to check current practice and report back.
After discussion, a motion to approve item 11 was moved, seconded and carried 3‑0. The commission asked staff to verify where state funds are being directed and, if appropriate, to amend the agreement to reflect current administrative practices.
No vote on changing payment routing was taken at the meeting; staff will follow up with the sheriff’s office and the treasurer.
