Evansville Parks Board opens two construction bids but takes no action due to lack of quorum

Unidentified Speaker 1 opened the Parks Board of Commissioners meeting on Sept. 18 and announced the board did not have a quorum, so no votes would be taken.
Unidentified Speaker 2 read the bids for the record. "The first bid is from Ace and Sons Fence Company, and the new fence lump sum price is $46,140," Speaker 2 said, adding that demolition of the old fence was priced at $1,770. Speaker 2 said that was the only bid received for the Stoplight City project.
Speaker 2 also read a bid for the McDonald’s Golf Course parking lot from Superior Asphalt, stating a lump-sum price of $53,400. "That's the only component to the bid," Speaker 2 said.
Because the board lacked a quorum, members did not vote on either bid. Speaker 2 said both submissions "will be taken under advisement" and referred to the city’s purchasing department for detailed review and procurement compliance checks. No mover, seconder, or formal vote was recorded.
The meeting concluded with Speakers 1 and 2 confirming there was effectively no meeting and adjourning the session. The purchasing department will review the bids and the board may take formal action at a later, properly noticed meeting when a quorum is present.
