Councilmember Valerie Woodall read a second reading of Resolution 04-20-24 Oct. 29 and the council voted to adopt changes to the recreation committee's terms and duties.

The resolution extends committee member terms from one year to two years, establishes the committee's role in administering grants and partnering with outside organizations, requires the city manager to include budget funding for committee operations in the annual budget proposal, and sets committee membership at five residents appointed by the mayor and council. The resolution also extends the terms of current appointees for an additional year.

The mayor called the question, the resolution was moved and seconded, and the council recorded unanimous approval on the record. The resolution will supersede prior rules and guide committee operations going forward.
