County staff told commissioners on July 3 they received four proposals for a three‑year, as‑needed contract for special inspection services, including welding and concrete inspections. Staff ranked CMT Engineering Laboratories first, Terracon second, and RB&G and PSI/Intertech tied for third. Staff recommended proceeding with negotiations with CMT based on price and qualifications.
Commissioner Lee moved to accept the recommendation and authorize negotiations with CMT; the presiding commissioner seconded. The motion carried 2–0.
Staff said the contract would be used on an as‑needed basis and that the selected firm will negotiate final contract terms before a possible future award.
