Addison approves consent agenda, final payouts and equipment purchases totaling millions

The Village of Addison approved its consent agenda on Oct. 7, authorizing final payouts and several equipment purchases for public-works and wastewater projects.
Brian, a village staff presenter, told the committee the village sought final payment to Tigris Aquatic Services of $53,301.92 for the Louis Reservoir East Pond aerator project and a final payout of $422,696.85 to Aqua Contractors Corporation for Oak & Chestnut North State infrastructure work, noting the latter reached substantial completion on July 31, 2024, and came in $162,922.73 under the revised budget. Staff recommended both payments after site inspections and warranty considerations.
The board also approved a $22,055.11 quote from Goetting Electric Company for a custom motor at the North Wastewater Treatment Plant; staff explained modern raw-sewage motors are custom-made with 10–12 week lead times and that keeping a spare motor reduces the risk of capacity loss. The purchase will be installed by staff to avoid installation costs.
For streetlighting, staff requested a waiver of formal bidding and approval of a purchase from Excel Limited Inc. for seven streetlight control cabinets, not to exceed $46,050. Staff said Excel has provided these cabinets for the village for five years and standardizing components aids safety and spare-parts stocking.
Wastewater staff also requested a waiver of formal bidding to contract with Parkson (the original equipment manufacturer) to rebuild and retrofit an AquaGuard continuous self-cleaning bar screen at the AJ LaRocca facility at a cost of $215,435, citing OEM parts availability and prior inspection by Parkson as justification.
Each of these items was moved, seconded and carried in committee and later approved by the village board.
The board’s approvals are administrative and procedural steps that release funds, confirm vendor selection and allow projects to proceed; specific contract numbers, funding account numbers and warranty periods were provided in committee packets and on the record for each item.
