Addison board approves consent agenda: payouts, contracts, insurance renewals and local projects

The Village Board of Addison approved a consolidated consent agenda at its Oct. 21 meeting that bundled multiple routine financial and contract actions recommended earlier by committees.
Items approved included final payouts: Tracy & Ed Construction (Bartlett) for $154,125 for a Public Works trench drain and sediment-separator replacement; Keeley Construction Inc. (Villa Park) for $71,331.98 for a police records renovation; and Aqua Contractors for $171,916.70 for the 2023 Michael Lane water-main replacement and resurfacing project. Staff said each project was completed, inspected and came with required invoices and waivers of lien.
Procurement and contract approvals included a not-to-exceed $185,000 purchase of bulk road salt through the DuPage County joint purchase (Morton Salt at $73.90/ton, minimum 80% of an anticipated 2,200-ton allocation), an award to Winkler Services LLC for cyclical tree pruning not to exceed $149,885, and a not-to-exceed $99,209.08 purchase of Tait transmitters and receivers (with a request to waive formal bid because the vendor holds the current support contract).
Personnel and benefits items approved included a resolution extending an employment agreement with Joseph A. Maranowitz and renewals of employee insurance plans with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (health), Delta Dental (dental), VSP (vision) and Mutual of Omaha (life AD&D). Staff told trustees the overall insurance cost increase for the renewal year was about 5% and recommended some plan changes to mitigate future increases.
Aging capital and maintenance work was also authorized: a not-to-exceed $18,023 proposal accepted for a grit-collector rebuild at the North Wastewater Treatment Plant and an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for a Route 64 intersection improvement project that will cost the village $30,289 (village pays 80% at contract award, 20% at completion).
All items on the consent agenda were approved by roll call with recorded 'Yes' votes in the transcript.
