The board approved the Great Sand Dunes National Park’s request to acquire subsurface mineral rights related to park lands; staff told the board the action imposes no county cost or obligation and the request was approved by motion and roll call.
Commissioners also approved a lease‑purchase agreement for a Road & Bridge tandem truck financed locally through Alamosa State Bank. Staff reported the bank offered a favorable interest rate and the financing was less costly than the original budgeted amount.
Finally, the board approved a temporary construction easement requested by Excel to install poles and perform short-term work west of town near the Del Monte Gun Club. Staff emphasized the easement is temporary (days per site) and is intended for construction activities, not long‑term staging. The easement requires coordination with the gun club and is not a permanent right-of-way.
Two consent items were pulled for discussion before the board voted on the remainder of the list; the pulled items were handled during the consent block and approved as noted.
