Real estate services staff presented a resolution to the City Council work session that would rescind an earlier resolution and expressly authorize the use of possession‑and‑use eminent domain to acquire real property and temporary construction easements needed for the Marksheffel Road improvements (Woodman Road to North Carefree Circle) using PPRTA funds.
Billingsley, presenting on behalf of real estate services, said the resolution approved on June 24 needed language clarified to expressly authorize possession‑and‑use eminent domain for the public project and that the current presentation was intended to correct that omission. The ordinance text in the meeting packet references property owned by PRD Real Estate LLC and PPRTA funding for the road improvements. Staff said the matter will be placed on the consent agenda for the regular meeting if council has no further questions.
No council questions were raised at the work session and there was no formal vote recorded during the work session.
