Madison County supervisors approved a string of routine but consequential actions Tuesday, including final payment for the county courthouse exterior project, several road-related resolutions and an auditor-reported transfer to an employee health-insurance savings account.
The board authorized a final disbursement of $198,065.28 to Bridle's Construction Company to close out the exterior renovation project. Contractor representative Mitch told the board the remaining items are documented as warranty items and that he would provide a timeline for completing them. Supervisors asked that outstanding warranties be tracked before final administrative closeout.
On transportation work, the board approved two temporary road-closure resolutions for pipe replacement, a work agreement with G Edwards (effective Sept. 18), and final resurfacing plans for project FM 061134 (referred to in the packet as Wyoming's Highway). Separately, staff described plans for resurfacing Cummings Road (about nine miles) with full-depth patching, a 3-inch overlay and guardrail improvements; an engineer's estimate of 4,300,000 was given and staff said the project will be funded from the Farm-to-Market Fund rather than property tax.
The board also approved the auditor's notice to transfer $4,500 into the health insurance savings account and approved a zoning resolution for a minor subdivision (PBG) after staff and supervisors discussed floodplain and watershed protections for the lots.
All motions in this group were carried by voice vote after motions and seconds were recorded on the meeting record. Where motions listed a mover and second in the transcript (for example, motions by Heather and seconds by Diane), the board indicated approval with an "aye" vote.
The board asked staff to provide additional documentation on pending warranty work for the courthouse project and to circulate resurfacing and contract documents ahead of the scheduled letting and construction work.
