The board approved the minutes from its Sept. 29 meeting and voted to dissolve an old Centric service contract with AT&T (account number read as 8124697405124); City Legal had reviewed the dissolution and the record included $18,851.60 tied to the agreement.
Jerry Brown, deputy chief for finance and logistics at the Evansville Fire Department, asked the board to authorize advertising for bids on six Special Service 1500-series trucks; the board approved the request, noting it was acting on behalf of the Safety Board to move the procurement forward.
The board approved change order number 2 for Project 24-013 (Lincoln Avenue Phase 2), a $0 change order that grants a 60-day extension for material availability and moves the completion date to Nov. 15, 2024.
Staff read Appendix A right-of-way permit applications (listed in the record as permit numbers 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976) and recommended no exceptions; the board approved those applications as submitted.
Following a council referral and constituent complaints about a proposed small-cell telecom pole at permit application 1536, staff said the contractor is willing to relocate the pole. The board voted to revoke permit application 1536 so the pole may be moved to a more suitable location to address neighbors' concerns about visual impact.
The board also approved barricade and signage requests for a Tiki On Main event (gated between Fifth and Sixth streets) linked to a Cole Wetzel concert; staff noted the promoter is a for-profit group and confirmed insurance, and the motion was amended to clarify distinctions between signage and road closure authority before approval.
Doshani Streeter of the Purchasing Department told the board that the solicitation for the City mobile app (read on the record as RFP "0 0 1 20 24") produced one proposal that was nonresponsive; the board voted to reject that bid.
The board approved bills and payroll as presented and then adjourned at 1:52 p.m.
Actions taken at the meeting were recorded on the public record; no contested roll-call vote tallies were read into the record during the meeting beyond members saying "aye."
