The Evansville City Animal Control and Education Commission approved routine business on Aug. 16, including minutes and several permits recommended by animal-control staff.
A motion to approve the June and July minutes carried by voice vote. The commission then approved an establishment grooming permit for Opie's Doggy Daycare at 410 East Indiana Street after staff confirmed the business met ordinance requirements. The commission also approved annual permit renewal for Susie Garrison and a poultry license for Autumn Dillon at 1516 Continental Drive (4 chickens, 2 ducks). All approvals were made by motion and voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Members also requested staff circulate updated ordinance verbiage and filtered shelter data ahead of the next meeting so commissioners can review changes proposed to hold times and community‑cat procedures. No controversial policy votes were taken during the permit items.
