MORRISVILLE, Pa. — Morrisville Borough Council approved a five‑year collective bargaining agreement with borough employees covering 2025 through 2029.
Council described the agreement as the product of cooperative negotiations and outlined the primary terms. Wages will increase on a multi‑year schedule (announcement given as 4%, 3.5%, 3%, 3%, 3%), the standard workday will increase from eight hours to 8.5 hours, and employees will receive three additional paid holidays (Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth and Christmas Eve). Sick‑pay calculations were changed from $25 per day (previous maximum cited as $4,000) to $40 per day; employees will also increase contributions to health care premiums to 1.75% of base salary for four years and 2% in the final year. Public works employees will receive a $300 boot allowance.
A motion to approve the agreement was made, seconded and approved by unanimous vote. Council said the negotiated terms and the contract text will be available for public review once drafted.
The borough emphasized the negotiation was collaborative; no formal dissent was recorded during the meeting. Councilors and staff thanked union representatives and municipal negotiators for reaching the agreement.
