Council unanimously approves two alcohol licenses and reappoints Historic Preservation Committee member

At its Sept. 24 meeting the Milledgeville City Council approved two alcohol-license applications and confirmed one reappointment.
The first approval was for Allies Marathon LLC, doing business as Marathon Food Mart (208 Robertson Mill Road), for packaged beer and wine sales (to-go). The clerk presented the application, a councilmember moved and the council voted unanimously by roll call: Mister Chambers — Aye; Doctor Lee — Aye; Miss Walden — Aye; Miss Schinholster — Aye; Mister Reynolds — Aye; Miss Mapp — Aye. The chair announced the motion carried.
The second approval was for AM Cantina LLC, doing business as Cantina Lettie (2485 North Columbia Street, Suite 105), for beer, wine and liquor sales for on-premises consumption and Sunday sales. Following a motion and second, the council again voted unanimously by roll call: Mister Chambers — Aye; Doctor Lee — Aye; Miss Walden — Aye; Miss Schinholster — Aye; Mister Reynolds — Aye; Miss Mapp — Aye.
The council also considered a reappointment to the Historic Preservation Committee and nominated Melvin Bayman for reappointment. After a motion and a second, the council voted by roll call to confirm Bayman: Mister Chambers — Aye; Doctor Lee — Aye; Miss Walden — Aye; Miss Schinholster — Aye; Mister Reynolds — Aye; Miss Mapp — Aye.
The meeting concluded without a closed session and the council adjourned following a unanimous roll-call vote.
