New mediation clears path for Newton lot split; commissioners consider private-road modification

Deputy Prosecutor Chase Hendricks told the commissioners a court-ordered mediation has ended with a signed agreement that the parties say satisfies the county’s requirement to allow a proposed lot split.
The settlement, Hendricks said, was brokered by mediator Mars Smith of Idaho Falls and includes a provision — cited as item 10 in the agreement — that the signed settlement would satisfy the county ordinance condition for a division of property. "The parties entered into a signed mediation agreement," Hendricks said.
