Umatilla Chamber updates council on ribbon cuttings, luncheon and business outreach

Josiah Baron, representing the Umatilla Chamber of Commerce, briefed the council on recent chamber activities at the June 4 meeting.
Baron said the chamber held its first luncheon in March with 19 attendees and hosted three ribbon cuttings for local businesses. He told the council the chamber’s distinguished award banquet nearly sold out, with 68 of 73 tickets claimed, and thanked city staff and public-works employee Leon Teal for assistance with event logistics and promotion. Baron also discussed efforts to boost social media engagement and encouraged local businesses to take advantage of chamber resources.
Council members thanked the chamber for outreach and volunteer contributions, and several members noted social media changes had increased public awareness of city events. The chamber announced an upcoming luncheon featuring a presentation by UEC and reminded members and nonmembers about attendance fees and upcoming dates.
