Later in the evening the commission voted to go into closed session (voice vote), then voted to assert attorney-client privilege with regard to closed-session items identified on the agenda under the San Francisco Administrative Code. The commission returned to open session and later adjourned in honor of Battalion Chief Terry Smurdell of the Fire Department, who died earlier in the week.
