MADISON COUNTY
The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved a slate of routine business items at its regular meeting, including the third reading of Ordinance No. 16 (the county's general assistance program), multiple sheriff's office personnel and wage resolutions, treasurer wage adjustments, event permits and four temporary road-closure resolutions.
The board voted by voice on each item. Heather moved and Diane seconded the third reading of Ordinance No. 16, which passed by voice vote. The supervisors also approved a sheriff's office resolution appointing McKenna Fire as a full-time jailer and adopted wage and longevity adjustments for sheriff's office staff effective in the stated fiscal periods.
In personnel actions from the treasurer's office, supervisors approved a corrected hourly rate for Mariah Bowman of $25.77 effective Sept. 13, 2023, and set Kylie Barber's annual salary at $53,002.49 effective Nov. 15, 2023; both motions passed by voice vote. The board also approved a $13,924.70 participation payment for the county's share of the CCOG planning and development program for FY 2025.
The board granted a temporary liquor and wine license for Facility Concession Services LLC for the Hinterland Festival in August and approved two fireworks-display permits submitted by Jacob Amston for separate events. Supervisors also approved four temporary road-closure resolutions for road repairs.
On meeting logistics, members voted to remove the study-session item from the agenda and change regular meeting start times to 9:30 a.m.; the motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The meeting concluded with additional routine reports and the board's adjournment.
The board did not record roll-call vote tallies in the transcript; items are recorded as passed by voice vote.
