Councilor James Raven moved the salary ordinance, which reflects a 4% increase for full‑time employees; the measure passed on roll call. County staff then read a list of budget adjustments covering general fund insurance, community corrections supplies, convention and visitor bureau positions, LIT public safety, assessor motor vehicles and other departmental changes. A motion to approve the budget changes and make the documents part of the record carried by roll call.
President Hahn summarized the package and told listeners the adjustments "represent reductions of almost $2,800,000 while approving funding of 3 additional residential officers, treatment court, and 6 new confinement officers for our jail," and noted shared funding for mental health court positions.
Council also set tax‑rate direction to the Department of Local Governmental Finance and set the Kingbridge tax rate at $0.36 for each $100 of assessed valuation, described by staff as status quo.
Other actions taken during the budget session included approval of multiple transfers and line‑item adjustments across departments and funds; the council thanked department heads and staff for their work preparing the budget.
