City engineering staff said crews discovered existing water lines located where storm sewers were planned, requiring field modifications to 10 structures. "As we were constructing several side streets, we needed some modifications because water lines were found to be where the storm sewers were planned to be," the city engineer said. The change order covers the contractor costs to make those modifications and to keep work moving.
The board moved, seconded and approved the change order by voice vote. No board member raised substantive objections during discussion.
Next steps: the contractor will implement the changes and the city will account for the additional cost and time in project records.
