The Pullman School District board approved a set of routine organizational items and state-required reports at its regular meeting.
At the outset the board unanimously approved the evening’s agenda and later passed the consent agenda to expedite routine business. During the meeting the board adopted the 2024–25 organizational meeting calendar and committee assignments, which includes placement of the DEIB task force and a parent-partnership representative.
Superintendent Dr. Maxwell presented the district’s 2024–25 minimum basic education compliance report required by the state; board members discussed a discrepancy in minutes for grades 6–8 and noted the topic may be revisited in winter scheduling discussions. The board voted to approve the compliance report.
The board also approved the reorganization of one existing nutrition/wellness policy into three separate policies: 6700 (nutrition), 6701 (recess and physical activity), and 6702 (wellness). Justin Polstead reviewed the rationale for splitting the prior single policy into three documents to align with state guidance.
All of these items were decided by motion and voice vote with no roll-call tallies recorded in the public transcript. The board adjourned after noting there were no discussion items or an executive session scheduled for the night.
