It also unanimously approved an appropriation of $34,757.33 into the Sheriff’s Office vehicle budget after the department received an insurance payment for a 2020 Ram 1500 and $10,000 from the Road Department for the sale of a 2018 Silverado. A third unanimous appropriation, for $41,834.38, corrected an omission in the 2024 Road Department budget.

Eclipse staffing and operations: court members discussed staff availability and transfer-station hauler schedules for an upcoming solar eclipse. Transfer-station representatives reported the haulers planned not to operate and Walton offered options to open limited hours or remain closed. The judge announced that county offices would be closed on Eclipse Day.
