Council approves city assistance for HEDC site cleanup at 47521 Willow Street

Bryce Healy, representing HEDC, said the structure’s mold damage made repair impractical and the board intends to remove the house and prepare the lot for redevelopment. Healy told council the request was for city equipment and manual labor to clear the site once the structure is removed and acknowledged there is a septic system and block basement on the property.
Healy also noted the adjacent two properties are for sale and not currently annexed; the HEDC intends to pursue annexation and rezoning discussions for coordinated redevelopment. Council moved to approve HEDC’s request; the motion carried on recorded votes.
