SFPUC approves consent calendar and several contract actions; moves not to disclose closed-session discussions
Summary
At its Oct. 23 meeting the commission approved the Oct. 9 minutes, multiple contract amendments and water-supply assessments on the consent calendar, authorized a development-agreement consent for India Basin Investment LLC, and voted to withhold disclosure of closed-session discussions on several claims/litigation items.
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission conducted votes on consent items and other agenda business on Oct. 23.
The commission approved the minutes of Oct. 9, 2018 after a motion and second with no public comment (SEG 017-027). The consent calendar (item 10) covering routine matters was moved, seconded and approved with oral 'ayes' (SEG 1414-1436).
Specific approved items included an amendment to agreement CS204 increasing the agreement by $500,000 and extending the term by 1 year and 5 months (item 11, SEG 1438-1451); amendments to agreements CS258A–C increasing each by $2,450,000 and extending each contract by four years (item 12, SEG 1452-1469); water supply assessments for proposed development projects at 598 Bridal Street and 542–550 Howard Street (items 13 and 14, SEG 1471-1498); and approval of lease terms increasing annual rent to $350,083 for an office lease (item 15, SEG 1500-1516). The commission approved an interjurisdictional personnel exchange with the California Department of Water Resources for a temporary loan of SFPUC employee Daniel L. Wade for up to 20% of his time and not to exceed $375,000 with a term of approximately 21 months (item 16, SEG 1518-1538).
The commission also consented to a development agreement between the city and India Basin Investment LLC and authorized the general manager to execute SFPUC consent and adopt CEQA findings and the mitigation and monitoring program; Deputy GM Michael Carlin confirmed that if SFPUC power is determined feasible, the recipient would be required to accept it (item 18, SEG 1557-1603).
The secretary read closed-session items including existing claims and litigation matters (Sherry Jackson; Sentinel Insurance; Jeffrey Schalk) and the commission moved into closed session. Upon return, the commission moved not to disclose the closed-session discussions and that motion carried on an oral vote (SEG 1604-1675).
