SAN FRANCISCO — At a community meeting May 17 at Mission Police Station, San Francisco Police Chief William Scott and Captain William Griffin presented department activity, recent arrests and priorities for the Mission District.
Chief Scott opened with recognition of the department’s Crisis Intervention Team awards held May 11, calling the ceremony “an outstanding event” that highlighted officers’ use of de‑escalation tactics. "We are making significant progress in training all of our 2,300 or so officers on CIT tactics," he said, describing CIT as a major city investment.
