Commission staff introduced a memorandum from Lieutenant Catherine Whalen and Deputy Chief Sinas laying out the quarterly report. After a short public comment period, Commissioner Mazuko moved to adopt the item and Commissioner Marshall seconded. "All in favor?" the Commission President asked; commissioners responded "Aye," and the motion passed unanimously.
Public commenter John Jones urged more time and public notice to review lengthy reports before meetings, saying, "It is unfair to the public, particularly those of us who are unschooled in police matters, to drop a report of this length on the table as we walk in the door and expect us to respond to it intelligently." Commission leadership replied that meeting materials are posted on the SFPD website at least 48 hours prior to meetings.
No further action was taken on the report beyond receipt and filing.
