During its Aug. 8 meeting the Evansville Board of Public Works approved a package of routine administrative items on the consent agenda.
The board approved minutes from the Aug. 1 meeting and then voted to surplus a METS Mobility vehicle (VIN 1GB6GUCL1G1143034) that was totaled in an accident; staff said insurance proceeds will buy a replacement. The Board also approved a contract renewal for Computer Services with Spectrum for $64,724.40; city counsel reported that Mister Lutz negotiated about $12,000 in savings compared with the prior agreement.
Solid Waste requested the temporary use of 25 orange cones for a Toxaway Day event on Sept. 7 in the Civic Center parking lot; staff described it as a recurring event and the board approved the loan. Finance presented a yearly renewal of legal services with Keenan Ogden, PLLC (for Human Relations Commission legal work) for $15,600; finance officer Christine Schumacher said the firm handles human relations legal services when needed. The board also approved a water and sewer easement on property at 6229 Ward Road after city counsel Marco DeLucio reviewed the easement and recommended approval.
The board then approved Appendix A permit applications listed on the agenda and subsequently approved bills and payroll before adjourning.
