Kearney — At its Oct. 16 meeting, the Kearney Planning and Zoning Commission approved an amended set of September minutes, adopted its draft 2025 meeting schedule and heard a brief update on permit activity before adjourning.
A commissioner proposed a minor wording change to the September minutes to attribute a statement about a third party to that person’s brother rather than implying direct instruction; the commission approved the amendment and then approved the minutes.
Staff presented a proposed 2025 schedule of regular meetings (second Mondays of each month) and noted an October holiday; the commission approved moving that October meeting to Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, and adopted the schedule as presented.
In a brief operational update, staff said the city has processed about 33 permits so far this year, slightly higher than last year, and noted a couple of recently active permit applications.
With no further business, the commission moved and seconded a motion to adjourn; the meeting was adjourned.
