Commissioners set public hearing on Yellowstone study commission, approve claims and consent agenda

The Board of County Commissioners voted to set a public hearing on a proposal to establish a Yellowstone County Government Study Commission and approved routine claims and the consent agenda during its Jan. 30 meeting.
Commissioner Morse moved “to pass Resolution 24-15 of intent to hold an election to establish Yellowstone County Government Study Commission,” specifying a public hearing for Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 3108. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board also approved claims numbered 24-106, 24-107, 24-108 and 24-109 after a motion to approve those claims was made and seconded. That motion, too, carried by voice vote.
Finally, the commissioners moved to approve the consent agenda and file listed items. A speaker misspoke briefly while making the motion and corrected the wording on the record; the board approved the consent agenda by voice vote.
The chair asked twice for public comment on county business; no members of the public spoke. The meeting concluded with brief remarks to staff. The scheduled public hearing on the Yellowstone County Government Study Commission will take place Feb. 13, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 3108.
