Evansville council approves year-end transfers, four rezones and airport mutual-aid pact

The Evansville Common Council on Nov. 18, 2024 voted unanimously to adopt amended ordinance F-2024-18 authorizing year-end transfers and reappropriations, approved four rezoning ordinances (R-2024-30 through R-2024-33) and adopted Resolution C-2024-25 to formalize a mutual-aid agreement with the Evansville-Vanderburgh Airport Authority.
Council said the amended F-2024-18 ordinance largely moves funds between internal accounts to balance end-of-year budgets. A city controller explained that a roughly $100,000 transfer in the general fund is intended mainly to cover vehicle repairs for police cars whose replacement orders were delayed.
