The Evansville Board of Public Safety on July 24 approved a series of routine municipal actions including a medical-advisor agreement for police medics, the award of an RFP for upfitted vehicles to a local vendor, multiple building and street permits, and an increase to the city's trash-and-debris contract.
Catherine McDonald of the police department asked the board to approve an agreement between the city, the Evansville Police Department and Dr. Michael Don, saying the city is “required by state law to have a doctor, as an advisor to our actual medics.” The board moved and approved the agreement by voice vote.
Purchasing staff presented results for RFP O30092024 for upfitted parked vehicles. Purchasing listed four proposals—John Jones Auto Group, Don Franklin Chevrolet, Town and Country Ford and Utilitec—and said Utilitec received the highest score (92.32).
