Board signs change order increasing East Side drainage project by $1.01 million

City engineering staff said multiple jurisdictional reviews — including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the railroad — required changes in materials, methodologies and quantities that drove the increase. Engineers told the board that railroad permitting remained the principal outstanding clearance, and that they estimate about 92% of required reviews are complete.
The board voted to approve the change order by voice vote. Staff indicated the revised contract amount will be administered under the city’s construction contract procedures and noted remaining coordination with the railroad.
Next steps: staff will finalize change‑order paperwork and continue jurisdictional coordination required for project construction.
