The Board of Aldermen approved two public-works contract actions. Members agreed to amend the on-call plumbing services contract with Shamrock Stewart and Drain LLC to accept a $10-per-hour rate increase and to allow the contract to automatically renew per its existing terms unless notice is given. Council discussed responsiveness as a factor in retaining the vendor.

Separately, the board accepted a contract renewal option for Topcare Lawn Service Inc. and Progress Mowing to continue mowing and grounds services; that renewal reflects a $2,340 increase that falls within the existing contract terms and includes three parcels added this year at the prior rate.

Both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said they will finalize the contract language and execute the renewals per the established procurement process.
