The Clark Public Schools Board of Education approved multiple routine agenda items during its meeting, including personnel appointments, curriculum and instruction updates, policy changes and finance items.
The board voted to approve the minutes from Aug. 5; roll call recorded five yes votes and three abstentions. A slate of personnel items (items 1–30) was approved after a roll-call vote in which one board member identified abstentions on specific subitems; the board stated the motion carried. Curriculum and instruction items were approved by roll call. Policy items 32 and 33 and board governance items 34–38 (including two sidebar agreements) were approved without substantive debate. The finance slate (items 39–53) was carried with one noted abstention on item 47.
Votes were recorded by roll call during each motion. For the Aug. 5 minutes approval the clerk recorded these votes (as read aloud during the roll call): Miss Aikolonis — yes; Mister Smith Sivinga — abstain; Mister Breedy — abstain; Miss Guerrero — yes; Miss Harrison — abstain; Miss Hickman — yes; Mister Lewis — yes; Miss Samorro — yes; the motion was announced as carried.
Board leadership described these approvals as routine consent and governance actions taken in advance of the start of the school year.
The board adjourned after handling the consent and action items; no additional votes were taken following the finance approvals.
