District honors students accepted to Explorer Early College Academy

The Hazlet Township Public School District board recognized members of the ninth cohort of the Explorer Early College Academy during the meeting.
An unidentified staff member announced the district’s partnership with Brookdale Community College and explained the Early College Academy’s aim: "In 4 years these students will have earned a college degree before they are awarded their high school diploma," a program description read aloud. Staff called the names of students accepted into the cohort and congratulated families; one board member noted there were 13 award winners and that 11 were present.
Board leadership thanked students and families and encouraged community support as the school year begins. No board action was required to recognize the students.
