Independent auditors give Tempe Union a clean opinion; board accepts reports

CliftonLarsonAllen presented the Tempe Union High School District's fiscal-year audit for 2022–23 and issued a clean, unmodified opinion. Jean Marie Dietrich, signing director for the firm, told the board auditors performed the single-audit in accordance with uniform guidance and government auditing standards and identified no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses.
Dietrich said auditors found no unusual or fraudulent transactions, evaluated accounting estimates and found no management bias, and noted three uncorrected misstatements to the beginning fund balance that management and auditors agreed were immaterial to the financial statements as a whole.
"We have issued clean, unmodified opinions, which is the highest level of assurance a CPA firm can provide on all of your audit reports," Dietrich said. The board performed a roll-call vote and accepted the audit reports 5-0.
Board members thanked staff for transparency and timely responses to audit requests; the board then bundled additional business-service items (I2–I6) related to bond projects and approved them in a single motion.
