The Port Commission voted on several consent and lease items and adopted multiple resolutions during the Oct. 31 meeting.
• Black Rock Arts Foundation: The commission approved a retroactive five‑month extension for a temporary public-art installation on the Embarcadero, extending the installation until March 7, 2013. (Resolution 12-83 passed.)
• Autodesk (Item 9A) and DNA Direct (Item 9B): Staff presented a second amendment to Lease L15169 with Autodesk Inc. to add approximately 18,499 square feet at Pier 9 (extending the lease term to 120 months) and a mutual termination agreement with DNA Direct for Lease L14871. Staff described a minimum guaranteed investment and estimated port revenue changes. The motion passed; resolutions 12-79 and 12-80 were adopted.
• Black Coalition on AIDS (BCA) direct negotiation (Item 9C): The commission approved direct negotiations and a proposed lease (L-15199) for a ~7,369‑sq‑ft freestanding building and a ~4,235‑sq‑ft paved yard at 601 Cesar Chavez Street for five years with a 36‑month extension option. Terms discussed included monthly rent of $3,004.31 prior to rent credits, a six‑month rent abatement tied to tenant improvements, a 2.5% annual increase and a 6% revenue share on cafe sales. Staff said CEQA review was completed and that a pre‑inspection confirmed code compliance. The motion passed (Resolution 12-81).
• Consent to transfer leases (Item 9D): The commission consented to transfer two leases from Bodie Concrete LLC to Central Concrete Supply Company (a US Concrete subsidiary) for premises at Wharf 92 and Seawall Lot 344. Staff said due diligence on creditworthiness and environmental compliance was completed. A Local 10 representative raised concerns about barges and unloading; a company representative said their site does not unload barges. The motion passed (Resolution 12-82).
For most items, motions were made and seconded on the record and votes were announced verbally as 'Aye.' Individual roll-call votes were not transcribed in the public record provided.
