Committee confirms appointments, accepts donations and approves proprietary systems for new Pickering School

The Lynn School Committee voted on several routine but consequential items during the meeting: it elected Yanan Fritz and Lindsey Johnson as school nurses by roll call, accepted miscellaneous donations totaling $1,400 to SkillsUSA, and approved proprietary audio and security equipment (Verkada and audio-enhancement systems) for the new Pickering School so classroom technology is consistent across buildings.

Superintendent Alvarez identified the appointees and announced interim and administrative appointments earlier in the meeting, and Deputy Rodero described the vendor equipment as standard classroom infrastructure the district seeks to replicate at the new building. The procurement vote was framed as ensuring consistent equipment across district schools; the committee approved the request by roll call (Member Satterwhite absent).

Committee members also approved a motion to cancel several upcoming regular meetings and scheduled a special meeting for Oct. 29 in place of the Oct. 31 regular session.
